Note: After the first day of class, students must submit a completed drop form in order to withdraw from class. Tuition refund amounts are based on the date the withdrawal notice is received in the College of Graduate and Continuing Education office. Fees are not refundable.

Registration Information

Registration for Visiting Students

A student matriculated at another college or university who wishes to take courses for credit at The University of Scranton may do so with "Visiting Student" status through the University's College of Graduate and Continuing Education.

  1. Complete the registration form, and mail or fax it to the College of Graduate and Continuing Education/Undergraduate Summer Sessions Office.
  2. Include written approval (from your dean or other authorized administrator) for all courses to be taken at The University of Scranton.
  3. Registration prior to May 1 is encouraged for best course selection, but generally students may register through the second day classes meet. See calendar.
  4. An invoice/remittance form will be sent to all who have registered. Students are expected to meet the payment deadline indicated on the invoice and to return the remittance form to the University Bursar.
  5. Students who fail to return the remittance form to the bursar may be charged a $100 fee to be reinstated.

Transcripts

It is the responsibility of the visiting student to request an official transcript, which will be sent to the student's home school after the summer session has been completed. Grades are not sent automatically. Forms are available in the Registrar's Office, St. Thomas Hall, Room 301. The fee is $10.

The University shall release education records of personal information only with the expressed written consent of the student. Such written consent shall include date of request, specification of records to be disclosed, party or class of parties to whom disclosure can be made, and student's signature.

Confidentiality of student records is protected by University of Scranton policy and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). A copy of University policy may be obtained from the vice president for student affairs.

All courses are 3 credits unless otherwise noted. Web courses are not open to students in the High School Scholars Program.

Class Meeting Times

The times listed in this bulletin are the officially scheduled class periods. The class period includes a 15-minute break. Registered students may expect classes to meet as designated unless an official notification of change is received from the College. Any student with a question or problem concerning class times may call (570) 941-7580.
