Summer Recreation

Summer recreational memberships are available to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the general public. Memberships run June 1 to August 26 and include racquetball courts, swimming pool, tennis courts, weight room and cardio-equipment, gymnasiums, sauna and steam room. All members must have a Royal Card or Membership Card to be admitted to the Recreation Facility.

Hours of Operation

Monday-Thursday:

6:30 a.m .- 8 p.m.

Fridays:

6:30 a.m .- 6 p.m.

Weekends:

Noon-5 p.m.

Pool hours are available at the Rec Office

Reservation Policy:

All facilities are on a first-come, first-served basis. At various times throughout the summer months, some areas may be reserved for use by conferences and sports camps and may be unavailable.

Guests, accompanied by a member, may use the facilities for $3/day.

Student memberships are available to high school and college students 16 or older for $25. Proof of age is required when purchasing a membership.

Family rates cover principal member, spouse and dependent children under 21 years of age. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult when using the facilities. No one under the age of 16 will be allowed to use the weight room.

PoolWilliam J. Byron, S.J., Recreation Complex

The William J. Byron Recreation Complex is a three-story building with approximately 60,000 square feet of floor space. The first level houses the swimming pool, locker rooms, saunas, steam baths, racquetball courts and aerobics/dance room. The second level contains an observation deck where one can view a swim meet from one side and a racquetball match from the other. A new 3,500 square-foot fitness center is located in the Murray Royals Room. The third level contains approximately 25,000 square feet of air-conditioned space with three multi-purpose athletic courts for tennis, basketball and volleyball.


John J. Long, S.J., Center

This three-level, multi-purpose structure includes a 22,820- square-foot main floor area used for basketball, other sports and special events, with a seating capacity of 4,400. It provides specialized facilities for wrestling and weight lifting, as well as locker rooms and an athletic training area.
