2009 Undergraduate Commencement
Schedule of Events

FRIDAY - May 29, 2009
8:00 p.m. - Class Night - DeNaples Center Ballroom 407

Those who have been notified as award winners should report to the Theatre (Room 401) by 7:00pm for pictures. Robe only is required (no cap or hood).

Reception will follow in the first floor lobby.

SATURDAY - May 30, 2009
10:00 a.m. - Nursing Pinning Ceremony - Long Center

(Reception will follow in the Long Center Lobby)


1:30 p.m. - ROTC Commissioning - McDade Center Royal Theater

(Reception will follow in the lobby)


3:15 p.m. - Robing for Mass - St. Thomas Hall
2nd and 3rd floor classrooms

Academic robe only (no cap or hood).
Do not plan on leaving anything behind.


4:00 p.m. - Baccalaureate Mass - Byron Center

Procession will start at 3:45 p.m.

Guests will be seated by the ushers. Seating will be interrupted when processional begins and will continue after graduates are seated.

Baccalaureate Mass is an act of worship; taking photos or leaving before the ministers exit is inappropriate.


8:30 p.m. - President's Reception for Graduates & Parents - Byron Center

Admission tickets are required (invitations are sent to the families of undergraduates).

SUNDAY - May 31, 2009
11:00 a.m. - Commencement Assembly - Wachovia Arena
Students should report in full academic attire (robe, cap with tassel and hood) with numbered placement card. Do not plan on leaving anything behind.

12:00 p.m. - Academic Procession and Commencement - Wachovia Arena
During the ceremony each graduate will march across the stage and receive a scroll from Fr. Pilarz.
